Spectre & Co. Gives One Man a Complete Style Makeover, Donates Slim Fit Dress Shirts to Charity
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Spectre & Co., a new e-commerce startup that specializes in luxury-quality, slim fit shirts at affordable prices, recently teamed up with the charity Suiting For Success, an initiative sponsored by the Man of True Honor organization and the King’s County District Attorney’s office dedicated to providing services linking ex-offenders and their families to resources that can help them re-enter communities in positive ways. Spectre & Co. served as style mentor for the event, donating slim fit shirts for many of the participants while also providing style and etiquette advice for job interviews. The company also gave one participant a complete style makeover to get him ready to return to the workforce.
"The Suiting For Success event was a perfect fit for Spectre & Co.," says founder Jeffrey Zhang. "It was amazing to help these men put their best foot forward for their upcoming job interviews, and we are extremely glad that we could provide our style expertise and slim fit shirts for such a worthy cause. For a lot of these men, Suiting For Success means a fresh start and a new life, and it was an honor and privilege helping them with outfits that would make great first impressions."

Spectre & Co. also worked with Suiting For Success to give one man a complete style makeover for upcoming job interviews. The company was paired up with Darren, a 38 year old who turned his life around during a twenty-year prison sentence. Mild-mannered, soft-spoken, and exceedingly polite, Darren conveyed to Spectre & Co. his passion for academia and his dream of becoming a history teacher. He recounted that his turning point was his acceptance into Bard College’s Prison Initiative program on a full scholarship, from which he graduated with a B.A. in Humanities in May. With several interviews and meetings with academics coming up, Spectre & Co. helped Darren put his best sartorial foot forward with some slim fit shirts and a tailored suit that was sure to put a confident spring in his step.
Working closely with Spectre & Co. founder Jeffrey Zhang, Darren was able to walk out of the company's midtown offices with a brand new look that suited his shape. "Darren has great taste in fashion, but had the same problems with clothes that many guys have: they were too big," says Zhang. "He's in great shape, but a boxy shirt and extra-long pants with a huge break hid his physique. To remedy that, we outfitted him with our signature White Oxford Slim Fit Shirt, a classic navy suit with wider lapels, and tapered pants that complemented his silhouette. With a new outlook on life, a passion for teaching, and a great attitude, Darren was already most of the way there for a successful job interview, we just wanted to give a little sartorial push for him to make one hell of a first impression."
Spectre & Co. launched in early May of this year with high threadcount, 100% two-ply cotton, fitted shirts starting at just $45, with free shipping in the United States as well as free returns for first-time customers. The shirts come in a standard slim fit measured by neck and sleeve size, and are constructed with less fabric in the torso and waist to prevent billowing, for a look that is both stylish and comfortable.
