My Positive Perspective Broadcasts Episode on the Importance of Teamwork and Cooperation in the Development of Youth
Charleston, SC (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- On October 1, 2013, My Positive Perspective broadcast an episode on the importance of sports in the development of our youth. In the beginning of the episode, host Jason Deierlein makes an opening comment, “Sports saved my life when I was young. I survived a horrific car accident thanks to the physical condition my body was in at that time.”
Joining Deierlein for the episode was published author Ward Irvin who had three sons that Deierlein was teammates with. Irvin also wrote a b ook c alled The Road to Rupp, a book about basketball where one team triumphs during one weekend to win the Kentucky state basketball championship. When Deierlein asks Irvin about team sports, he says, “It builds character and focus as you train and compete with team mates. That was what brought about the enjoyment to me as I wrote Road to Rupp.”
Deierlein then says, “It’s important to build the characteristics of fr iendship b uilding as a youngster because they carry over into adulthood. I would not have gone to swim practice before and after school if I was not friends with the people I swam with.” Irvin then concludes the episode by saying, “You learn from each other and everybody learns with proper team sports, and you always have those memories.”
“My Positive Perspective is a media outlet believing that improvement in our community will be best achieved by focusing on the good things happening in our world today. Having survived a near fatal car accident as a youth, a shift of perception forced one to have a mentality of always concentrating on the brighter sides of things. This was true, and in my book, Return From a Comatose Mind, this belief was put to the test.”
“Appreciation for life was the biggest thing one took away from my brush with death, and it is because of that gives me such a huge desire to be helpful to many. My Positive Perspective is a way of overcoming challenges through positive thinking.”
