ARLINGTON, Va., April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Starfish, announced today that Starfish will host a client panel at AACC's 99th Annual Convention hosted by the American Association of Community Colleges at 4:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, April 13.
The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) is the primary advocacy organization for the nation's community colleges. The AACC annual meeting is among the largest gatherings of educational leaders, including more than 2,000 community college presidents and senior administrators.
In Starfish's session, "Understanding Your University's Capacity to Improve Student Success," attendees will hear from two institutions who have engaged in a process of assessing their strengths in leveraging data and focusing on what it takes to implement in a complex campus environment—as well as taking on cultural pieces like faculty engagement, communication, and capacity-building in service of achieving their student success goals. The panel will be lead by Andy Runyan, Senior Strategic Consultant at Starfish by Hobsons. Panelists include Cristobal Valdez, Ed.D., President of Richland Community College and Colleen Simpson, Ed.D., Vice President of Student Services at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
"At Starfish, it is our mission to provide institutions the necessary tools to support students in achieving their education and life goals at the institution of their choice," said Howard Bell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Starfish. "The Starfish team is honored to share our best practices with community college leaders from across the country at the AACC annual convention."
Conference attendees are invited to stop by Starfish by Hobsons' booth (#614) to speak with the Starfish team about understanding the complexity of implementing student success initiatives on campus.
The Starfish Enterprise Success Platform helps nearly 500 colleges and universities - more than all other organizations in the industry - scale their student success efforts so more students can achieve their academic and life goals. By helping higher education institutions leverage reliable data to pinpoint areas of concern and opportunity within courses and student populations, as well as institutional programs and services, Starfish connects these findings to action by identifying at-risk students, connecting students with valuable resources, and building career and academic plans to achieve student goals with the least momentum lost.
