StartMeApp Names Mobile Advertising Executive Gwenaelle Lefeuvre as Mexico Country Manager
Mexico City (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- StartMeApp (http://www.StartMeApp.com), the global mobile ad network and Latin America’s leader in mobile advertising, today announced the appointment of Mexico-based mobile content and advertising executive Gwenaelle Lefeuvre as the ad network’s new Country Manager for Mexico, one of the most important country markets in StartMeApp’s rapidly expanding global mobile advertising business.
Mexico accounted for 1.48 billion monthly impressions on mobile ads, apps and content over StartMeApp’s network during Q2-2013, comprising nearly 10% of the network’s total 15 billion monthly impressions worldwide during the quarter. Mexico’s 1.48 billion share of StartMeApp’s monthly impressions in Q2 was nearly one-third (31.8%) of the 4.65 billion monthly impressions by all other Latin American markets combined, according to data from StartMeApp’s most-recent ‘AdSmart’ Quarterly Report, released last week.
As StartMeApp’s Mexico Country Manager, Gwenaelle Lefeuvre brings a wealth of local experience in the Mexican market to her new position, in which she will be responsible for driving business and managing client relations with StartMeApp’s growing list of content publishers, brand and agency advertisers in the Mexican market.
As Mexico City-based General Manager of mobile marketing agency Millevent Amerigo from 2010-13, Ms. Lefeuvre was in charge of strategic management & negotiations with content publishers and advertising agencies, with oversight for all aspects of campaign management and performance optimization, premium mobile inventory development, ad-serving technology deployment and media buying and strategic alliances in the Mexican market.
Previously, as Business Development manager with Millevent Amerigo’s parent company, Mill’event Francia, Ms. Lefeuvre developed and launched Millevent’s mobile content business in Mexico, with responsibilities covering all aspects of new business identification and development in Mexico and creation of a network of international content publishers and aggregators for the delivery of top-quality apps and content to the Mexican mobile marketplace.
“StartMeApp is very pleased to welcome Gwen Lefeuvre to our growing team of mobile advertising professionals worldwide and proud to be able to introduce her as our new Country Manager to our growing client roster of publishers, brands and advertising agencies in the Mexican market,” said Gaston Fonzo, Co-Managing Director and Founder, StartMeApp.
“As more and more Mexican consumers transition from feature phones to the new generation of smartphone and tablet devices,” Fonzo added, “StartMeApp’s expert mobile advertising team under Gwen Lefeuvre’s direction will be ready and eager to assist our clients in Mexico, delivering highly relevant ads, apps and content to the right mobile consumers, over the right devices in the right place and at the right time, and providing maximum ROI on their mobile ad campaigns and content inventory.”
Gwenaelle Lefeuvre holds a Master’s of Business Administration, with a specialty in the Management of Cultural Institutions and Multimedia, from the Audencia School of Management, in Nantes, France. She also studied the History of Art at the University of Human Sciences in Nantes, France.
A resident of Mexico since 2005, Ms. Lefeuvre previously worked in the Mexican Capital in the communications department of the Cultural Section of the French Embassy, where she continues to serve as a Permanent Member of the Economic Council to the Embassy. In 2009, she was a recipient of the VIE México Prize, awarded each year by the French Embassy and the French-Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Mexico.
As Ms. Lefeuvre assumes responsibility for StartMeApp’s mobile content and advertising business in Mexico, data extracted from StartMeApp’s most-recent ‘AdSmart’ Quarterly Report for Q2-2013 shows Mexico beginning to more closely track the trend toward Apple iOS-based smartphones and tablet devices seen in North America, in growing contrast to data for the rest of the Latin American region.
During Q2-2013, the Android operating system dominated across the rest of Latin America, with a 46% share of monthly impressions on the StartMeApp network. During Q2 in Mexico, however, Android accounted for 38% of all impressions on the StartMeApp network, with Apple’s iOS registering a 23% share of impressions, pulling ahead of the LatAm average monthly impressions share of 22% - a trend the network expects to increase in Q3-2013.
At the same time, other operating systems – including Blackberry and Windows – comprised 17% of all impressions on the StartMeApp network in Mexico during Q2, far higher than the 3% seen across Latin America and nearly matching the 18% of all impressions seen for North America as a whole during a quarter.
In a similar pattern, tablet devices accounted for 14% of all impressions in Mexico during Q2, nearly double the 8% share of impressions seen across the rest of Latin America and more closely corresponding to the 17% share of impressions seen across North America during the quarter.
The trend of Mexico more closely tracking the pattern of impressions in the North American market is one that StartMeApp expects to see continuing into Q3-2013 and beyond, as Mexican mobile consumers have more exposure to and enjoy greater availability of Apple devices and tablets generally, owing largely to Mexico’s proximity to the U.S. marketplace and the strong surge of tablets and Apple iOS in that market.
