Greenwich, CT (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- Startup Grind is proud to announce Greenwich, Connecticut as its first Connecticut chapter--now 1 of 85 cities where Startup Grind events are happening around the world. Startup Grind Greenwich will host its first inaugural event with Virgin Atlantic Airways founding member David Tait on March 12th, 2014 at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich. Startup Grind, powered by Google For Entrepreneurs, will continue to host monthly signature fireside chats with successful founders to educate, inspire and support entrepreneurs in Fairfield County Connecticut and Westchester County New York.
Startup Grind has experienced explosive growth recently with segments on MSNBC and articles written by well respected publications, like Forbes. Startup Grind Founder and CEO Derek Andersen also recently featured in a panel discussing Startup Grind's involvement in the new Google for Entrepreneurs campaign #40Forward which is providing program assistance and $1,000,000 in funding to partner organizations that are increasing the representation of women entrepreneurs in their startup communities. Startup Grind Greenwich Chapter Director Peter Sinkevich explains, "There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur with organizations like Google supporting initiatives like Startup Grind. I truly believe 2014 is the Year of the Entrepreneur."
The Greenwich Chapter is a volunteer managed and operated organization, part of a much larger globally connected network of vibrant startup communities designed to help fuel innovation, economic growth and prosperity at the local level. "Startup Grind Greenwich is excited to be the very first chapter in our organization located in Connecticut and because we are soo close to New York, we welcome all startups, founders and entrepreneurs from Westchester County and New York in addition to the motivated entrepreneurs located in Connecticut and Fairfield County," Peter goes on to say.
The speaker at the event, David Tait, wrote the business plan and was one of the original founders of Virgin Atlantic Airways. He spent nearly twenty years building the airline and Virgin into one of the world’s leading brands with his long time friend and famous colleague Sir Richard Branson. At Buckingham Palace in 2001 David was awarded an OBE, or Officer of the Order of The British Empire, by Queen Elizabeth II for his achievements and “services to British aviation in the United States.” More recently, David operates his consulting firm Consultait (@consultait on Twitter) as well as Co-Founding DiscoverLuxury.com, an online luxury hotel booking website.
Tickets can be reserved by visiting the Startup Grind Greenwich Eventbrite page. The Startup Grind Greenwich Inaugural event will be held at the Bruce Museum located at One Museum Drive, Greenwich, CT 06830 and is graciously keeping its' exhibit doors open that evening until 7pm EST so attendees can walk around to explore and enjoy the museum before David Tait takes the stage. Peter comments, "I am very proud to be a part of such a high quality organization like Startup Grind and to be supported by Google For Entrepreneurs. David Tait is the first in an amazing lineup of speakers planned for the series this year in an effort to educate, support and inspire entrepreneurs both here locally and all over the globe through the Startup Grind YouTube account. We are thankful to David and all of our local, national and global sponsors who have volunteered their valuable time, energy and resources so we may achieve our goals."
