Steve MacDonald, the iconic co-founder and former President and Chief Executive Officer of CD-adapco, a global provider of multidisciplinary engineering simulation and design exploration software, has been elected to the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame for his significant contributions to the region’s technology community. The induction ceremony will take place today at the Garden City Hotel in New York.
MacDonald highlights the three-person 2016 class of inductees into the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame and joins the likes of such leaders from revered companies as Northrop Grumman, Computer Associates (now CA Technologies), DealerTrack and Henry Schein.
The induction comes on the eve of STAR Global Conference 2016, to be held March 7-9 in Prague. The event annually brings together the biggest names in engineering as CD-adapco unveils its latest technology breakthroughs. This year’s event, which is expected to draw in excess of 500 visitors, will open with a tribute to MacDonald honoring his vast engineering achievements.

After 35 years of leadership at CD-adapco, Steve MacDonald passed away on September 2, 2015. Sharron L. MacDonald succeeded Steve MacDonald as the CEO & Interim President of CD-adapco Worldwide.
