RAVENSTHORPE, Australia (PRWEB) March 03, 2016 -- Author Rosalie Hill has always believed that memories are one of the most important things in a person’s life, because memories are what make a person who he or she is. They are what define them, deeds and events recorded to be relived over and over again. In “Stories from the Bush” (published by Xlibris AU) the author creates a touching collection of poems from the Australian bush taken from her many fond memories of youth.
“Stories from the Bush” consists of various poems, originally set to music and sung by husband , Len Hill, at dances and other country music venues . The poems, of various themes, generally follow the life and history of Rosalie’s family background, and of her life on the land. Photos of her beloved country and hills in the mid-north of South Australia, helps explain the beauty which she has been lucky enough to be able to experience. Sheep, dogs and horses dominate, with the old stories of men in the early years when life was very different from modern days.
The book also includes a few personal interests of family as their lives progressed into Western Australia and beyond.

About the Author
Rosalie Hill, has spent most of her life in Western Australia, helping her parents and then her husband develop new land to increase the family’s business operations. The family farm in South Australia was set amongst the hills in the mid-north and held many fond memories of grandparents and life in the sheep country. After a short working holiday around Australia, being employed as a telephonist, pay clerk and a teacher’s college student, her career path then followed her husband’s. Having been educated at an exclusive girl’s college did not equip her for the basics of the ‘new land farmer’s’ wife, but with five children to raise and educate, tractors and rakes to drive, and making a home in the end of a machinery shed, she was in the company of many others doing the same. Always it has been the love of the land that has motivated her life and ambitions.
