The fact that we can create award-winning campaigns that also create measurable results for the client and help them achieve their goals—that is the ultimate reward

Stevens & Tate Marketing was honored for its outstanding creative work again this year, receiving two International Davey Awards for Business-to-Consumer Integrated Campaigns—both within the food/grocery retail industry.
The advertising agency was recognized with Silver Davey awards for Integrated Campaigns developed for Strack & Van Til Food Market, an independent grocery chain based in Northwest Indiana.
According to Dan Gartlan, president of Stevens & Tate Marketing, the winning “What kind of food shopper are you?“ campaign was created to address the changing habits of today’s grocery and retail shoppers. “Compared to years ago, shopper loyalty is down,” Gartlan said. “The ‘shopper’ campaign taps into consumers’ diverse shopping modes, and reminds them that Strack & Van Til is a good solution for all their needs.”
The wide-reaching marketing efforts of the ‘shopper’ campaign include various executions spanning print posters, radio and broadcast TV spots, outdoor billboards, social media, Interactive and Facebook ads, emails, YouTube videos, and a dedicated Microsite. Specific messages were crafted to resonate with a variety of different audiences and psychographics, and were targeted by geographic area, time of day (for digital billboards and online ads), and other key elements.
“In a highly competitive marketplace, standing out from the everyday and influencing shoppers to act is critical,” Gartlan expressed. “By highlighting recognizable behaviors or attitudes that make shoppers unique, and tying them back to a direct Strack & Van Til advantage, these ads present an entirely new platform that succeed in getting attention and triggering response,” he continued. With the overarching theme “No matter what kind of food shopper you are, you can shop YOUR way, at Strack & Van Til,” the campaign also offers virtually endless opportunities to expand and evolve into the future—another reason it was recognized with a Davey Award this year.
The second campaign that won a Silver Davey for Stevens & Tate was for “Get Fresh”—an earlier marketing program supporting Strack & Van Til’s overarching branding message of “Built Around You.” This included print, signage, in-store promotions, door/window clings, flyers/FSIs and handouts, grocery bags, department stickers and out-of-home media including radio, TV, online and outdoor—all focused on showcasing the high-quality, dependable freshness that Strack & Van Til offers all around the store.
Stevens & Tate has been working with the grocer for a few years, consistently demonstrating the ability to create engaging and memorable marketing that builds brand awareness, attracts new customers, educates on competitive advantages, and strengthens existing store loyalty.
