SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Stratford School has expanded its family of leading private schools in San Francisco with the opening of a third campus. Located near Golden Gate Park Presidio in the Richmond District, the new San Francisco 14th Avenue campus provides its accelerated yet balanced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum for students from preschool to 5th grade.
This fully-renovated campus, which opened for instruction in November 2018, features two floors with spacious and bright classrooms, a student learning commons, and an expansive multi-purpose room with a well-equipped stage for student performances and special events.
Stratford School founder, Sherry Adams, who established the school in 1999 said, "Our expansion in San Francisco meets the growing demands of parents seeking an academically advanced, socially enriched, dynamic education. Our vision, at Stratford School, is to inspire and nurture the hearts and minds of our students -- one child, one teacher, and one family at a time. We are thrilled to now have three beautiful campuses in this vibrant city!"
To celebrate this new school, Stratford School, which has easy access from 19th Avenue invites the community to an Open House on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. During the Open House, guests will meet the school leadership team, teachers and staff as they explore Stratford School's curriculum and tour the new campus.
"We are thrilled to provide Stratford School's robust STEAM education to the San Francisco community," said Sherrie Paregian, head of school at the 14th Avenue Stratford School campus. "STEAM education helps students be able to relate what is learned in the classroom to the outside world. Establishing these real-world connections as early as preschool helps demonstrate the foundational skills and knowledge students need to truly find and explore their unique passions as they continue through their educational journey."
In addition to its upcoming Open House on March 23, parents with children entering preschool through first grade are invited to attend Stratford's free "With Me" workshops. These interactive and enriched parent/child workshops directed by Stratford teachers will focus on STEAM themes including Art, Cooking, and Planting. "With Me" workshops last approximately one hour, and parents may choose from the following schedule:
- Art With Me - Thursday, March 21 at 3:45 p.m.
- Cook With Me - Thursday, April 25 at 3:45 p.m.
- Plant With Me - Wednesday, May 29 at 3:45 p.m.
