Levin, Papantonio Shareholder Ben Gordon Appointed to Plaintiff’s Lead Counsel Committee in Stryker Hip Recall Lawsuit MDL
Pensacola, FL (PRWEB) November 20, 2013 -- On November 15, 2013, District Court Judge Donovan W. Frank issued an order that set forth the roles for the Plaintiffs’ Lead Counsel Committee for the Stryker hip recall multidistrict litigation (MDL) in St. Paul, Minnesota (MDL No. 13-2441). Ben Gordon, a shareholder with the Levin, Papantonio law firm, has been appointed to the the counsel.
Mr. Gordon commented, “It’s a privilege to be chosen to serve in this capacity by the Court, and I look forward to working diligently with my Co-Lead Counsel to help optimize the fairness and efficiency of this MDL."
According to the court documents, the committee is responsible for presenting to the Court the position of plaintiffs on all matters arising during pretrial proceedings in the Stryker hip recall MDL, coordinating the initiation and conduct of discovery for plaintiffs, conducting settlement negotiations for plaintiffs, and more.
The Stryker hip recall MDL was established after large numbers of lawsuits were filed against Stryker Corporation following the Stryker hip recall of the Rejuvenate and ABG II Modular metal-on-metal hip implants. The recall followed reports that patients were suffering from fretting and corrosion at the site of the modular neck junction, which could lead to cobalt and chromium poisoning and often requires patients undergo a costly revision surgery to replace the device.
Individuals with Stryker hip implants under the Stryker hip recall are encouraged to contact the Levin, Papantonio law firm for a free case evaluation by a Stryker hip recall lawyer. The Levin, Papantonio law firm is a national leader in medical device litigation and has fought on the behalf of injured victims for over 50 years.
