Allen School of Health Sciences, which has since 1961 trained graduates to become successful healthcare professionals, recently announced it enrolled a fourth-generation student. “We are honored to have Dymond Ramcharitar as a new student, and the fourth person in her family to attend our school,” said Jason Teich, President of Allen School of Health Sciences.

Dymond began the Medical Assistant program in April. Her great grandmother and great aunt both graduated from Allen School of Health Sciences when the school was known as the Allen School for Physician’s Aids. Furthermore, Dymond’s mother graduated in 1999 as a Nursing Assistant and still works in the field.

“After trying several different job fields, Dymond decided to finally follow in her family’s footsteps and enter the healthcare field,” said Teich. “We are proud to help launch her career.”

The Allen School of Health Sciences is renowned as one of the most dedicated institutions in training graduates to become successful healthcare professionals. Loretta Teich, grandmother of the school’s current president Jason Teich, purchased the Jamaica, Queens institution in 1980 with the goal of helping students and teaching them the skills necessary to enter the profession of Nursing Assistant. Her son, Robert, later oversaw the school’s expansion and opened a second campus in Brooklyn. In 2007, the institution realized the need to reach students on a national level and began to offer additional Health Science opportunities. The online Medical Insurance Billing and Coding program was created and a branch campus was opened in Phoenix. To date, Allen School of Health Sciences has launched the careers of thousands of healthcare professionals.
