“The 11 percent increase above our prediction indicates that remote work has been embraced widely by employees and businesses and will continue to be embraced,” said Dave Fisch, CEO of Ladders. “Our data show that demand for a permanent remote work option has caused major companies to yield.”

Remote work options remain popular despite companies’ current attempts to have employees return to the office. According to Ladders’ data, by Q4 of 2021, three million additional jobs had transitioned to permanently remote status, with 18 percent of all professional jobs across the US and Canada hiring remote. At the end of 2021, Ladders predicted a rise to 25 percent by Q4 2022; by the close of Q3, that number had risen to 36 percent.

The Ladders Q3 2022 Quarterly Remote Work report is the result of analyses by data scientists at Ladders, Inc., commencing before the pandemic took hold and continuing to the present time. The data presented in the report is designed to objectively investigate how the remote work trend progressed from Q1 to Q3.

“The 11 percent increase above our prediction indicates that remote work has been embraced widely by employees and businesses and will continue to be embraced,” said Dave Fisch, CEO of Ladders. “Our data show that demand for a permanent remote work option has caused major companies to yield.”
