SOMERSET, N.J., June 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sunbird Software, the global innovator in data center management software, today announced the general availability of its latest Power IQ® Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software, solidifying its position as the de facto standard in remote data center power monitoring.
"Reducing downtime continues to be one of the biggest challenges modern data center managers face," said Herman Chan, President, Sunbird Software. "As utilization of data centers increases in today's operating environment, Power IQ becomes an even more critical tool to maximize uptime by remotely monitoring power usage and circuit breakers, notifying customers of potential service-impacting issues resulting from a loss of power."
Monitor Inlet Line Amps and Rack PDU Outlet Circuit Breaker Loads
With Release 7.1, Sunbird introduces an extreme level of granularity to data center power monitoring by allowing users to set and monitor thresholds for single and 3 phase power of infrastructure equipment such as rack PDU inlets, rack PDU outlet breakers, Remote Power Panels, floor PDUs, and UPSs. Customers will be notified when thresholds are crossed, alerting them before there is an issue and enabling them to react quickly to prevent costly unplanned downtime.
"Power IQ provides customers with full visibility of their data center environments," said James Cerwinski, VP of Product Management and Marketing, Sunbird Software. "Setting thresholds is easy, and users are immediately alerted of threshold violations via dashboards and email."
Elegant GUI Enhancements Make Data Center Monitoring Fast, Easy, and Complete
Release 7.1 comes with GUI enhancements to keep the technology behind Power IQ as modern as ever such as dark mode, new dashboard layout options, and folders to save and share dashboards.
Additional new features include new local levels for easier reporting and data rollups at region, country, territory, and city levels, a new active directory and LDAP groups module, and much more.
"Today more than half of data center operators report having adopted commercial DCIM tools, and plan on adding more features to areas such as capacity planning, change management, monitoring of components in the power distribution chain and cooling systems," said Daniel Bizo, Principal Analyst, 451 Research – a part of S&P Global Marketing Intelligence. "This is a major upgrade from the reality of the market just five years ago, let alone 10, and 451 Research expects vendors to offer refined DCIM tools, and customers to get better at using them."
