Dells Boat Tours' Dinner Cruise Serves up Sunsets and Serenades all Summer Long in Wisconsin Dells; Excursions Begin May 25 and Run Through Early September
Wisconsin Dells, Wis. (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- Wisconsin Dells visitors can welcome days’ end as Dells Boat Tours' Dinner Cruise serves up sunsets and serenades all summer long. Once again, peak summer time will bring nightly offerings of the popular Sunset Dinner Cruise featuring a surf n’ turf meal and live musical entertainment.
“Dusk is one of the most beautiful times to get out on the Wisconsin River, see the stunning sun-lit views of the towering bluffs, and enjoy some great food and live music” said Dan Gavinski, general manager of Dells Boat Tours.
Visitors can steal away for a scenic nightcap beginning Sunday, May 25, during the Memorial Day Weekend. Tours are offered most evenings during the peak summer vacation time, however some dates vary. A full calendar is available online at dellsboats.com. Sunset Cruises run through Saturday, September 6.
The popular excursion explores the Upper Dells of the Wisconsin River, featuring some of the most stunning views of the region. The dramatic sandstone cliffs that line the riverbank have long drawn tourists to the area and stand as a signature of the Dells. Along the 2¼-hour tour, boat pilots and guides weave in some brief narration about the breathtaking views and history of the region.
Helping set the stage for the relaxing trip is live musical entertainment. Most nights regional favorite Dan Soma serenades guests with his musical talents; singing while playing guitar and harmonica. A riverboat pilot himself for many years, Soma is very knowledgeable about life on the water. His music features a variety of genres and is appealing to all ages. On select nights, local favorite Mike Powers steps aboard to serenade and entertain with his own flavor of appealing songs for guests.
Complimenting the soothing music and warm scenery is a delectable surf n’ turf dinner buffet. Prepared by the chefs of Chula Vista Resort, the main entrée includes a 5-ounce sirloin and a 3- to 4-ounce lobster tail served with potatoes and chef's choice of market fresh vegetable. Sunset cruise passengers can enjoy a mixed greens and romaine salad tossed with dressing and house-made croutons. The meal is topped off with a gourmet dessert. An assortment of beverages is included and a cash bar is available for cocktails.
As night falls, the Sunset Dinner Cruise makes a stop at the beautifully mysterious Witches Gulch, a canyon winding deep into the shoreline. Torches light the boardwalk that meanders into the glen. Guests can disembark and take a leisurely stroll into the peaceful, shady gorge.
Sunset Dinner Cruises depart from the Upper Dells boat dock in downtown Wisconsin Dells. Tickets are $50.50 for adults (ages 12 and older) and $37.50 for children ages 4 to 11.
