The Superior Small Lodging Association Announces Creation of New Hotel Improvement Program
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 30, 2015 -- The Superior Small Lodging Association, an association of over 150 small, independent lodgings in Florida announced the creation of a new program, the Hotel Improvement Program (HIP), designed to to support small lodgings in taking their properties to the next level of quality and excellence.
To ensure that each guest receives an optimum vacation experience all members of the Association must pass an an annual inspection and review process conducted by an independent professional inspection company. Following the inspection, properties are provided with an extensive report that is a useful tool in measuring a continued level of excellence. Those properties that do not achieve a favorable score must address the deficiencies noted on the inspection report and be re-inspected to remain in good standing and to be able to participate in marketing programs designed to put heads in beds, including a published property profile visible on the Association’s website, superiorsmalllodging.com. Until now, properties needing assistance in addressing deficiencies and concerns had no support and were on their own to improving to meet the standards necessary to participate in the SSLA programs.
The Hotel Improvement Program is designed to give small hotels the support needed to help remedy the deficiencies noted on the inspectors report and assistance to overcome challenges that maybe hindering improved quality standards. Through the wisdom and experience of the collective, strategic partnerships and SSLA’s Allied member resources SSLA is committed to assisting these innkeepers in bringing their properties to the next level. Properties that achieve a perfect score in housekeeping earn the highest honor of receiving the “White Glove Award
Due to our inspection program, an overwhelming number of Superior Small Lodging member properties not only pass inspection but also receive high scores from guests leaving online reviews. In 2014, 90% of SSLA members received a 4.0 score or higher and 23% percent achieved a perfect 5.0.
In addition to supporting small properties achieve success, “the SSLA Hotel Improvement Program gives destinations a resource tool to support under-performing small lodging partners to take their properties to the next level helping improve the destination’s visitor experience”, said Scott Rivelli, Executive Director.
