“It surprises people sometimes to know that pavement needs to be cared for in the same way our lawns, vehicles, and homes are. The extreme temperature changes in the GTA, he continues, can also cause the ground to expand and contract, causing pavement to crack. Further, the sealant on top of a driveway or parking lot that acts as a barrier against the elements can break down from the hot summer sun.
