Deluxe CCTV Inc., a video surveillance equipment company that offers the widest selection of covert surveillance equipment in North America, has released six things that every body camera should include.

From law enforcement to citizens who are looking to protect themselves, body cameras are increasing in popularity. As more come on the market, it is important to know what to look for, according to Deluxe CCTV Inc.'s CEO, Dustin Dalton.

"Cameras are everywhere in today's society considering everyone pretty much has one on them at all times with their phones, but there are some serious situations in which a wearable camera can be a matter of safety," Dalton said. "We wanted to share what law enforcement or individual citizens should be looking for when they are trying to find a quality body camera that will deliver for them."

Here are six things to look for when considering a body camera.

Full 1080P HD Resolution – In a day and age where every detail counts, your body camera should offer 1080P HD resolutions to help identify suspects clearly.

Night Vision – You can't control the time of the day when you may need a body camera, that is why it should be able to capture clear video at night, and even in the harshest lighting environments.

Long Battery Life – Try to find a camera that has up to 12 hours of battery life to help ensure it will stick with you when you need it most.

Drop Resistant – Having a durable unit is important. Your body camera should have a drop resistant rating. Look to make sure that rating is up to six feet, to ensure it is built for rugged use.

Stealth Mode – Needing to be discreet? Some body cameras feature a stealth mode where you can turn off all of the lights. This should come with a vibration mode when the camera is activated letting you know the camera is recording.

Charging Cradle – Many body cameras on the market do not come with a charging cradle, which hampers ease of use. You should be able to simply dock the body camera and charge it immediately.

Deluxe CCTV Inc. recently launched a new body camera that offers all of this and more. The DLX-140BC Ultra 1296p Body Camera with night vision can record up to 2304 x 1296 video at up to 30 frames per second for a crisp playback.

"This body camera was designed to fill a void in the industry. There simply aren't enough quality cameras on the market at a reasonable price, until now with the DLX-140BC," Dalton said.

The DLX-140BC Ultra 1296p costs $279.00. More information can be found here.
