Celebrate September's National Sewing Month with Quilt Patterns Inspired by Books

Made of small squares and half-square triangles in varying shades of two contrasting colors, the modern quilt looks like a mosaic.
“It looks complicated, but it’s so easy to put together,” Looney says. “The squares are two-and-a-half inches unfinished, which means it’s a great jelly roll quilt, though you’ll need some larger pieces of fabric as well in order to make the half-square triangles.
