Our technology allows professionals to serve those who aren’t yet comfortable going to a busy salon or young families who can’t get a haircut together. It also allows beauty professionals to supplement their income by working when they can’t get access to their salon chair.

Today, the makers of SalonEverywhere.com are thrilled to announce the launch of their platform in the US and Canada. SalonEverywhere is an Uber-esque web-app that lets clients find a salon, spa, and barber services offered in safe one-on-one environments by verified professional stylists. This includes services offered on location, in the client’s home, or a private stylist space like in a stylist’s home salon.

As salons, spas, and barbershops are being allowed to reopen in most states and provinces, strict new social distancing regulations are coming into effect. For instance, in Texas, which opened May 8, rules require “at least 6 feet of social distancing between operating workstations”. For most salons and barbershops this means keeping every second chair empty. Also, the rules forbid bringing “extra people to the appointment, such as children.” which makes it impossible for a family to get a haircut together.

Over 1.2 million professionals work in beauty and spa occupations in the United States with an additional 150,000 in Canada. Social distancing means that as the country reopens, the number of chairs in salons and barbershops will be cut in-half. Many professionals will lose access to their chair or need to work partial shifts. In addition, clients willing to go into a salon will see long wait times for an appointment, and families with young children will continue to struggle.

“I wanted to develop a way for stylists and barbers to connect with clients wanting private one-on-one services., said Jason Goncalves, CEO and Founder of SalonEverywhere. “Our technology allows professionals to serve those who aren’t yet comfortable going to a busy salon or young families who can’t get a haircut together. It also allows beauty professionals to supplement their income by working when they can’t get access to their salon chair.”

Users will only be allowed open access to the app when local regulations allow it and only for those services permitted at the time. The system is designed to be hyper-local and support a safe, secure connection with verified professionals in compliance with local laws and social distancing rules. Technology including two-way reviews, ID verification, credential checks, and social proof making it possible for clients and beauty professionals to connect one-on-one with confidence.
