We take care of our own

SXSW has always been about bringing together a community of creative minds to support and further innovative pursuits. As a community, we take care of our own; we always have. In light of last night's tragic drunk driving incident, it's time to come together in that same spirit to support those who were affected.

To this end, DropShades, Jukz Shoes, Henge Docks, and a variety of other brands are working together to send money to the Austin Community Foundation's SXSW CARES fund to raise funds for this very purpose. The indicated brands will be donating a portion of each purchase made through Sunday using the code "sxswrelief" directly to the Austin Community Foundation to cover costs accrued by those affected by the incident.

Further, DropShades and Henge Docks will be hosting an exclusive event at 360 Nueces from 7 PM to 11 PM. At the event, attendees will be able to support the efforts by directly contributing to the fund, purchase DropShades, or commission work with Cheshire Cat Art in order to support the efforts. With limited capacity at the venue, interested guests will have to submit their name and contact information to the event's RSVP page. Registrants will be contacted when added to the official guest list.

"This is the time for all of us to step up and take care of each other," said DropShades co-founder Harrison Herndon. "We hope you'll join us as we strive to provide for those hurting as a result of last night's event."
