Michael Pavia, President of Sydor Instruments, was recognized this month by two different organizations for outstanding business leadership.

The Rochester Regional Photonics Cluster/New York Photonics (RRPC) awarded Pavia the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award at its annual meeting held on Sept. 4. This award recognized Pavia for demonstrating creativity, innovative spirit and drive in pursuit of creating an industry-leading company in the optics, photonics and imaging industry.

On Sept. 9, Pavia won the award for Visionary Leadership at Digital Rochester’s Greater Rochester Excellence and Achievement in Technology (GREAT) awards ceremony. The awards program recognizes and celebrates the Greater Rochester community’s entrepreneurial spirit in technological achievement by highlighting the organizations and individuals that are on the cutting edge of technological innovation and implementation.

“I accept these awards on behalf of the employees at Sydor Instruments. They are the company’s greatest asset and they are the best and the brightest in the industry. Their commitment to customer focus, teamwork and high performance every single day makes leadership that much easier,” Pavia said.
