Dan Taylor, the vice president of global sales and marketing for London-based Datix, has joined the Synensis Advisory Board, the company announced today. Datix offers clients web-based patient safety software, and Taylor’s knowledge of the healthcare industry in general – and patient safety specifically – will be a strong asset for Synensis, which is a leading patient safety consultant and provider of improvement tools and training.
Taylor couples his nearly five years of patient safety experience at Datix with more than 20 years of experience in international sales, marketing, and operations in the telecommunications and healthcare industries. At Datix, he is currently responsible for the development and delivery of the company’s commercial strategy, including partner relationships.
“Dan will be an extremely valuable resource for our company,” said Synensis Chief Executive Officer and President Stephen Powell. “He will bring us new insights into the field of international patient safety, as well as new ideas using information systems to support continuous improvement and a culture of safety.”
Taylor joined Datix in 2009 as sales and marketing director, following a stint with Medscreen, a provider of specialist laboratory services. Prior to this, Taylor held a range of senior sales and marketing roles for both public and private companies in the healthcare and technology sectors. He started his career as an officer in the British Army.
Taylor holds a BA in Sociology from York University and an MBA from Henley Management College.
