Synergy HomeCare of DuPage County Providing Relief to Haitian Victims of Hurricane Matthew
Glen Ellyn, IL (PRWEB) November 11, 2016 -- In an effort to provide assistance to Haitians still struggling after the devastating Hurricane Matthew, Synergy HomeCare of DuPage County has started a donation campaign, the proceeds of which will be donated to New Life for Haiti. This organization is headed up by Pastor Fran Leeman, who is also the founding pastor of LifeSpring Community Church in Plainfield, IL. New Life for Haiti is an organization dedicated to making life better for children and their families in a remote river valley in southern Haiti.
Once the aid agencies pull out of Haiti a huge void will be left, but New Life for Haiti has plans in place to fill this void. This includes providing food to help prevent starvation, providing tarps over homes until they get rebuilt, and providing seed so the villagers can replant the gardens that the hurricane uprooted. New Life for Haiti has the infrastructure in place to deliver the needed materials and services, but needs additional money in order to make it happen.
“I have known Fran Leeman for several years. I recently met with him and listened as he described the devastation in Haiti and his plans to make sure that the Haitian people in the remote area he is operating in recover from Hurricane Matthew,” said Mark Gould, of Synergy HomeCare of DuPage County. “When he stated that if he did not help them, no one would, I knew that we had to try and help in any way that we could.”
Pastor Leeman visits Haiti four times a year and oversees local Haitians who have been providing food, water, and shelter for people in need. New Life for Haiti has had operations in Haiti for the past eleven years. They have been building schools, conducting medical clinics, providing children with meals and vitamins, and putting clean water projects in place.
