The Tabby Awards Proclaims Winners in the First Worldwide Competition for the Best Tablet Apps
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 27, 2013 -- The Tabby Awards, the only competition for the best tablet apps worldwide, announced the winners of its first competition for consumer apps.
Publishers from more than a dozen countries submitted over 150 apps for iPad, Android or Windows 8 tablets to the competition last spring.
A panel of 17 tablet professionals, set up in association with the Application Developers Alliance, reviewed these apps and selected 60 finalists. Judges considered the following criteria: overall value for the user, speed, concept, navigation, design, innovation, ease of use, use of tablet device functions and performance.
The judging panel has now completed its final round and declares winning apps in 24 categories. Winners include apps from American, British, Canadian, Finnish, Japanese and New Zealander publishers. The majority are iPad apps but two winners are apps for Android tablets.

The Tabby Awards /Business
The Tabby Awards holds a separate competition, with a separate judging panel, for business and enterprise apps. Called The Tabby Awards /Business, this second competition is accepting submissions until August 30 at TabbyAwards.com/business.
Finalists and winners of both Tabby Awards competitions will be celebrated at a ceremony at the end of TabletBiz conference & expo, the only event focusing on the business of tablets and apps, to be held on November 13, 2013 in New York City.
