Tablet Repair Contract Saves School System More Than $1 Million
ATLANTA, Georgia (PRWEB) October 07, 2014 -- On Friday Lexicon Technologies signed a three-year warranty agreement with Rockdale County School System in Georgia to support repair for new Apple and Dell tablets, laptops, and desktops. This contract is projected to save the school system more than $1 million on repair coverage cost for new tablets alone, compared to competitor pricing.
Cost savings and turn-around time were a focus throughout the four-month bidding process, according to Lexicon President Dave Wiedman. “Classroom instruction simply cannot be disrupted by technology failure. We are committed to having a replacement tablet in a student’s hands within 24 hours of it breaking,” said Wiedman. During the repair process, Lexicon will provide replacement devices, which will prevent the school system from incurring the cost of extra purchases.
Lexicon CEO Travis Collins attributes the company’s competitive advantage to its focus on repair cost reduction and value-added offerings, such as spare pool management. “Large-scale technology maintenance programs are our business, and we continue to invest in the latest equipment, systems and processes to create solutions that deliver exceptional value for our clients,” said Collins.
Lexicon currently repairs printers for Rockdale County School System, and will begin the three-year tablet maintenance contract Nov. 1 for Apple iPad Air and Dell Venue 11 models.
