Taiwan Mountain and Forest Promotional Video is Honored with the “Asia Adventure Destination” Silver Magellan Awards
(PRWEB) October 08, 2018 -- Taiwan Tourism Bureau produced the “Mountain and Forest Activities” promotional video to feature ecotourism. With the effort of the Los Angeles branch office, the video was entered into the 2018 Magellan Awards organized by “Travel Weekly,” one of the most influential travel magazines in the U.S. and received the “Asia Overall Destinations – Adventures Destination” Silver award.
Taiwan Tourism Bureau Director General Chou Yung–Hui expressed that the exciting news is a recognition of Taiwan’s promotional effort in recent years by the international media. With the implementation of Tourism 2020 – A Sustainable Tourism Development strategy, overseas offices have been working tirelessly to promote Taiwan specialty tours. On the mountainous land of Taiwan, 268 high mountains that are over three thousand meters are distributed throughout the island of less than 14 thousand square mile, including the highest peak in Northeast Asia, Yushan (Jade Mountain); it is a rare phenomenon in the rest of the world. Hiking enthusiasts are to conquer Taiwan Baiyue – a list of 100 selected mountain peaks – the prominent Hehuanshan peaks, the magnificent Dabajian Mountain, the dreamy snow mountain, the mysterious Chiaming Lake, the challenging Nanhu Mountain, and Qilai Mountain are all incredible gems for adventurous travelers to explore.
Last year, 570 thousand U.S. travelers visited Taiwan, a 7% increase comparing to the year before. Director Shih of Taiwan Tourism Bureau Los Angeles Office shared that “Food Paradise” is the first impression that U.S. travelers have of Taiwan while the boundless natural resources and landscapes come up next. Taiwan is truly gifted by Mother Nature with sky-high bamboo forest, spectacular marble cliff and canyons, and vast and brisk flowing streams. Travelers get to explore the ocean and high mountains all within the same day and discover mysterious coral reefs and romantic sunsets; after a good night rest at our friendly B&B(s), your journey begins at dawn where you can enjoy the rising sun emerging from the east among a sea of clouds. Taiwan is definitely a must visit destination for ecotourism.”
Besides the popular outdoor activity of hiking, Taiwan Tourism Bureau promotes a series of cycling events during the Fall season. The upcoming “Taiwan KOM Challenge” at the end of October takes riders across Hualien Qixingtan to Taroko Gorge all the way through the winding roads to Wuling at Mount Hehuan, the highest point of Taiwan Highways.
