PEKIN, Ill., Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With so many new insights and new treatment approaches in the field of eating disorders, it might be best to take a bit of a break this winter and head to the desert. The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) Foundation is hosting its annual 2019 Symposium in Palm Desert, California, February 7 – 10 at the JW Marriot Desert Springs Resort. World renowned as one of the top eating disorder treatment conferences, the iaedp™ Symposium brings healthcare and eating disorders treatment professionals together each year to discuss pressing topics that affect the ED field's both short- and long-term future.
The upcoming iaedp™ Symposium will begin as it has for the past 32 years -- with the traditional Presentation of the Colors. And like years past, this will be followed by the iaedp™ International Flag Procession, honoring the professionals who come together each year to advance learning, share groundbreaking information and engage with the world's most renowned and committed eating disorders professionals.
Over four days, the 2019 iaedp™ Symposium will feature more than 100 presentations, workshops and networking events and an internationally renowned art competition that involve the more than 800 expected attendees from all around the globe.
As the host hotel of the 2019 iaedp™ Symposium, the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort Showcases sophisticated accommodations in the Coachella Valley, near Palm Springs. Beautiful resort grounds feature waterways that can be travelled by gondolas, as well as a flamingo island, two golf courses and a spa.
"As we plan and develop the Symposium event, it is our goal to provide an exciting, quality program that challenges and informs our member professionals when working with patients," said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at the iaedp™ Foundation. "Another goal, however, has to do with the professional's experience at the conference. We select locations that provide a vacation-like environment that allows for both learning and relaxation."
