To help increase company growth and give freight agents the direct support that makes them more successful, Tallgrass Freight Company recently welcomed Trent Flanary into the newly established role of vice president of growth and development.

Flanary brings with him nearly two decades of experience in sales and operations, including more than 15 years spent in the logistics industry. At Tallgrass Freight Company, he’ll leverage that expertise to create a collaborative sales approach that’s primarily focused on helping Tallgrass Freight agents grow and retain their books of business.

“Too many companies throw sales people on an island with a sink or swim approach,” Flanary said. “Instead, my first order of business is to get to know each of Tallgrass Freight’s agents and, through a collaborative approach, assist them with developing an individual game-plan based on their personal strengths that will lead to their success, as well as the organization’s.”

Since Tallgrass Freight was founded in 2012, the company has been focused on delivering exemplary logistics services through a network of hardworking, driven freight agents. Those agents are given the freedom and resources to be their own bosses, and the company’s entrepreneurial culture plays an integral role in empowering freight agents to achieve whatever they want.

Adding Flanary to the team marks a significant step in further expanding the company’s goal-focused culture while ensuring that each Tallgrass Freight agent still receives the one-on-one guidance that Tallgrass Freight CEO Damon Anderson and Chief Operating Officer David Barnes have made a priority.

“David and Damon have done an exceptional job in getting Tallgrass Freight agents where they’re at, and now I can help keep them moving forward,” Flanary said. “I want to understand what motivates and drives each freight agent, then set goals and develop a plan to achieve them.”

Added Barnes, “This is a different animal than the typical w-2 management role. Trent is a leader and he’s helped other organizations grow and improve their overall sales departments and processes. We’ve brought in a great talent to help take Tallgrass Freight to the next level. We have lofty goals in 2019, 2020 and beyond, and we need someone in this position to grab the opportunity by the horns.”
