PCS Bail Bonds, Tarrant County’s Premier Bail Bond Service, Weighs in on Recent School Shooting in Oregon
Forth Worth, Texas (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- PCS Bail Bonds (http://www.PCSBailBonds.com), Fort Worth, Texas’ most trusted bail bond service, is offering its insight into the recent school shooting at Reynolds High in Oregon.
The unfortunate incident saw one student killed and a teacher injured. The shooter, Jared Michael Padgett, was 15 years old and only a freshman at his high school. After a short shootout with police, Padgett took his own life in a campus bathroom. “The sad part about this entire ordeal is that it’s becoming far too common,” says Paul Schuder, owner of PCS Bail Bonds. “The shooting and stabbing spree near UC Santa Barbara, the Seattle Pacific University shooting, a courthouse shooting in Georgia, and the Las Vegas killing spree have all happened over the past 30 days. It’s actually scary thinking about just how random these acts of violence and murder are becoming.”
Padgett carried a rifle and another handgun, along with nine magazines, bullets, and a knife inside of a guitar case and duffle bag. The deceased victim, 14-year-old Emilio Hoffman, was a student at the school; reports indicate no connection between him and Padgett.
Schruder notes that in extreme situations like this incident, the accused’s bail is often denied and they are remanded to custody.
“There have been 74 school shootings since 2012; that is 74 too many,” Schuder concludes. “There needs to be some sort of change in the way we approach this crisis. Too many children are dying for absolutely no reason. Parents have to feel safe sending their kids to school, and I don’t know if I can say that that’s the case.”
