Academy of Responsible Tattooing Holds First Tattoo Apprentice Workshop at New Los Angeles Shop
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- The Academy of Responsible Tattooing (A.R.T.) held its first tattoo apprentice workshop at its new location in Los Angeles last Sunday, November 16. The workshop brought the first wave of future tattoo artists through the new L.A. shop and marked the beginning of a new opportunity for aspiring artists in L.A. and the surrounding areas to help get them started on their journey to become tattoo artists.
Sunday's workshop was also a new experience for the Manager of the L.A. shop, Martin Dare. Beginning his career with an apprenticeship at A.R.T. in Jersey City, Dare was eventually promoted to Manager in Brooklyn and has now spearheaded the opening of the shop in Los Angeles. Being able to lead the first group of aspiring tattoo artists through the first Los Angeles workshop was just as rewarding for him as it was for those who attended.
"There was an amazing group of attendees in the workshop this Sunday," said Dare. "This is the first time that I personally experienced such an emotional roller coaster when offered the opportunity to make a life altering decision. It makes me realize how lucky and fortunate I am."
During an A.R.T. workshop, aspiring tattoo artists learn the ropes of working in a tattoo shop, including the proper sanitation techniques, ways to prevent cross-contamination, how to use and clean a tattoo machine and how to make stencils. Attendees who complete the full workshop are then eligible to apply to a tattoo apprenticeship with A.R.T. in which they will further develop their skills and eventually fulfill their dream of becoming a tattoo artist.
No prior experience is required to sign up for a workshop, but attendees must be 18 or older and have a strong desire to learn the art of tattooing. Attendees who choose to pursue the apprenticeship program upon completing the workshop will have the cost of the workshop rollover towards their tuition.
Overall, the first L.A. workshop was a great success that attracted many promising tattoo apprentices to A.R.T.
"Excitement and emotions were high, but our expectations were exceeded and the reception was warm and welcoming," said Guy Prandstatter, founder of the Academy of Responsible Tattooing. "Our first group of potential future tattoo artists were very passionate about their art and their future as tattoo artists with A.R.T."
For those who missed the first workshop in Los Angeles, A.R.T. will be holding another L.A. workshop on November 23rd. Aspiring tattoo artists can find more information about future workshops at http://www.tattooschool-art.com/sign-up-los-angeles.
