At the annual Honor an Educator event, educators are recognized for their significant contributions and pursuit of excellence in the field of education. Teacher Created Materials will present their nomination to Lesly Spangler, fourth grade teacher at Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School in the Garden Grove School District. Lesly creates a wonderful classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and are excited to learn. She serves as a teacher mentor, is on the Instructional Leadership Team and the Grade Level Leadership teams, and is always one of the first to organize and plan instructional events. Lesly also has a heart for the community and for her colleagues, and is always the first to volunteer to support whenever there is a need.
At this year's event, California State University Fullerton will also honor Dr. Ellen Junn, President of California State University, Stanislaus, with the Distinguished Education Leadership Award; Zoila Gallegos, Assistant Principal at Brookhurst Junior High School and Tracy Siudzinski, Manager of Learning and Development at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, with the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award; Bonnie Gillman, Founder and Executive Director of the Grandparent Autism Network and Family Autism Network Program, with the Distinguished Education Partner Award; Westminster School District with the Distinguished Education Excellence Award; and Dan O. Black, Trustee of the Black Family Trust, with the Distinguished Education Community Partner Award.
