DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) March 07, 2014

The Microsoft Visual Studio “Team to Win” Award will be presented to the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship team that demonstrates the best example of teamwork during each race of the 2014 season.

Making the award program unique will be a voting component that will allow fans to determine the winners.

Visual Studio, Microsoft’s application development software, continues its involvement in motorsports after sponsoring the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series event at Road Atlanta in 2013. The “Team to Win” theme that reflects the software’s collaborative development focus has found a great analogy in the tremendous teamwork required of world-class sports car racing.

“The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship stands as one of the great showcases for teamwork,” said Matt Nunn, Director, Developer Tools Product Marketing. “The ability to harness the power of individuals to achieve a common goal is at the heart of every great on-track performance. Teams of software developers need that same ability, and a great set of tools, when collaborating on new products. Visual Studio is pleased to work with IMSA to recognize the fundamentals of teamwork that we know is key to any winning effort.”

Microsoft’s involvement will include a cash prize to be awarded to the leading vote getters following each event. Four teams will be chosen by a panel of experts following each race and it will be from those four nominees that the fans will be able to choose the winners.

The first set of nominees, chosen from the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona, are:

1) DeltaWing Racing Cars
2) Action Express Racing
3) Level 5 Motorsports
4) Flying Lizard Motorsports

Fans can vote through Noon Friday, March 14, at http://on.wsj.com/1olayD3, with the winner being announced March 15 at the famed Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida.

“We’re pleased that Microsoft has identified the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship as a strong platform of teamwork and collaboration,” said IMSA Vice President, Marketing, David Pettit. “The Visual Studio Team to Win Award is a great opportunity to recognize the effort teams put in to each race.”
