Team Fisher, Local Realtors, Continue Their Investment in Hamilton County Youth
Carmel, IN (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- As realtors in Indiana’s fastest growing and most affluent county, often listed in National publications as a Top Place to Live, Team Fisher enjoys a consistent stream of new to the area homebuyers, and existing homeowners, that want to buy and sell in the area. Impressive property values, great parks and amenities, progressive infrastructures and highest ranked school systems drive a lot of real estate business to the area.
Team Fisher's commitment to the area goes beyond helping today’s buying and selling residents; the team has been investing in area youth programs hoping to ensure that today’s youth become the next residents to maintain and propel the county even further.
During the summer of 2014, Team Fisher were introduced to Youth Mentoring Initiative (YMI) and have since become a recurring sponsor and steadfast supporter of this important movement. The annual event, which is the top fundraiser of the year for YMI, is being held on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 A.M. at the Wellington Banquet and Conference Center, 9775 N by NE Blvd., Fishers, IN.
The YMI, founded in 2008 by Darren Heil, now Community Engagement Director, is a very progressive concept in youth mentoring based on an integrated approach partnered with area schools. Both of Fisher’s High Schools, Fisher High and HSE High, both listed in Indiana’s top 10 schools, and several of the feeder schools, are participants in the program. In fact, the new Superintendent of HSE School System, Dr. Allen Bourff, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming breakfast outlining the value of community engagement in the overall quality of a school system’s educational experience. Since its inception the YMI trained volunteer mentors have served 250 students with over 7300 hours of logged mentoring; goals for growth are exponential and just recently Intermediate Schools joined the program to get mentoring assistance for youth at an even younger age.
A 2013 anonymous Gallup Survey of 8872 HSE students in grades 7-12 revealed that 37% of students feel stuck or discouraged in the HOPE category; 35% are not engaged in their community; and 30% are struggling or suffering regarding their well being. At the 2014 breakfast, more than 200 attendees took away that message. Thousands of dollars were raised that day. Christy Corey of Team Fisher said, “The 2015 Fall Breakfast fundraising goal is $50,000. We are excited to continue to support youth programs in our area and look forward to seeing our friends, family, network of clients, and network of business partners at the Fall Breakfast. As two of Fisher’s mommies, we passionately believe in one of YMI’s founding principles - share your life to change a life.”
In addition, Team Fisher are a sponsor of the Indy Premier Soccer Club. More than 2000 youth enjoy high levels of training, teamwork, and competition through the club, and via sponsorships, the club provides scholarships for those that cannot afford the private fees but love the game.
