Dean further states that fair service is the hallmark of the industry. However, one of the reasons he and Ken opened Team Ramco Northwest was due to the fact that some shops push unnecessary services and they wanted to give people the option of utilizing a shop that always deals in honesty.
“Most mechanics are honest, yet too often we saw people being taken advantage of by dishonest shops who push unwarranted preventative maintenance,” said Ken. “We wanted to, and do, rectify that.”
The goal of Team Ramco Northwest, which will mark nine years in business in July 2016, is to provide actual repair of things that have already broken to make a vehicle safe and combat unethical business practices. Team Ramco does not put too much emphasis on what some shops call “preventative” maintenance because preventing something from breaking down in a car, in some cases, equates to wishful thinking.
“We, of course, always look a vehicle over and tell the customer about little leaks or squeaks and rattles,” said Dean. “But in an economy like this, what is more important, safety or a couple of squeaks or a drop of oil on your clean driveway?”
However, Team Ramco emphasizes they do not shy away when it comes to necessary repairs, and have been known to work on virtually anything with an engine, from the smallest radio-controlled, gas-powered models all the way up to semi-tractor rigs. “This can include chainsaws, lawn and garden equipment, motorcycles, ATVs, etc.,” said Ken. “If it runs, and we can get parts for it, we can and will fix it.”
