TEDxForestRidgeSchool: Passion for Change Friday, March 7, 2014
Bellevue, Washington (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Students at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart will be joined by a worldwide audience at the second TEDxForestRidgeSchool event on Friday, March 7, 2014. Their hope is to be inspired to have a "passion for change," which is the theme of this year's TEDx event. The event will be live streamed from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and can be viewed from the TEDxForestRidgeSchool site.
The TEDxForestRidgeSchool will combine TEDTalks videos and live speakers to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group setting. As Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
"We believe that women will continue to be strong, successful, compassionate agents of change in our world - today and long into the future," says the event organizer, Kisha X. Palmer, Director of Women as Global Leaders at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart.
"The speakers we have chosen represent those who have a passion for change: people who push for change in myriad ways, always with the goal of changing our world for the better. Our goal is to celebrate their passion and inspire our young women of the Sacred Heart to pursue their own passion for change and to make the world a better place for it."
Speakers will include:
Ashley Ahearn
Environment reporter at KUOW - National Public Radio in Seattle - and part of the regional multimedia collaborative project EarthFix.
John Fenoli
32-year Science Educator, Pioneer of "Physics First" science program and Presidential Environmental Merit Award-winner.
Mark Gonzales
