- 56% of the patients needed assistance from the care team
- 14% of patients were symptomatic for COVID-19
“The COVID-19 Telehealth and chronic care programs unique to Wanda Health, allow us to more rapidly identify and prevent the spread of the virus.” Yeeny Gonzalez, DNP, MD, CEO PCP1st. “It also is helping us to safely care for high-risk patients keeping them healthier at home and supporting the safety of our staff. The telehealth platform is now helping our team to be even more effective in caring for our patient population.”
The Case Study also identified that the ease of use of the telehealth platform allowed the PCP1st team and their patients to rapidly become proficient using telehealth-enabled care. The use of the telehealth platform helped to strengthen the patient-provider relationship and improved the productivity of the care team.
“We are very pleased with the results from the work accomplished by PCP1st. They should be commended for taking extraordinary steps to care for their patients during the pandemic,” said Bill Bassett, President of Wanda Health. “Both teams were focused on rapidly getting the COVID-19 Telehealth and remote care programs in place to help the at risk and quarantined individuals receive the care they needed from the safety and comfort of their homes.”
The onset of the COVID-19 crisis has presented several new challenges for PCP1st, a provider of customized care for high risk patients and those that require complex care management. They need an approach to safely and rapidly extend care for their patients and help them proactively manage COVID-19. PCP1st deployed the COVID-19 Telehealth and Remote Care programs from Wanda Health, providing patients and quarantined individuals with automated screening and remote care management for symptomatic, COVID-19 positive, and chronic disease patients. The team utilized a rapid deployment process to launch the program to 3,000 patients in 12 days. Patients were sent automated COVID-19 Daily Health Checks with doctors and patients interacting via the embedded video and voice conferencing functions when Care Alerts were triggered.
