Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) February 11, 2014
Hilary Gadda, Director of TelePacific’s Telepartner Channel, has been named as a member of the Executive Council of CompTIA’s Advancing Women in IT (AWIT) committee. The group, founded in 2012, provides mentorship, networking and resources for women that empower and encourage them to build successful IT careers. Members come from the United States, Canada, UK and South Africa – women and men who support AWIT’s mission.
“There are great opportunities out there for women in IT, whether they’re just starting out their working lives or considering a mid-career evolution,” says Gadda. “The rapid convergence of traditional telecom and IT opens up tremendous opportunity – and challenge – for all of us. I see this every day in the Agent community I work with as the Cloud and data are woven into business’ basic communications framework. This isn’t a passing trend – it’s the new reality.”
As one of AWIT’s Executive Council members, Hilary is part of a select group of thought leaders and influencers who are building a multifaceted education and advocacy effort that impacts legislation, shapes industry practices and provides practical support for women in IT.
“I’m the first telecom person asked to be a part of this leadership team,” says Gadda, “but it immediately was clear that we all share the same passion for helping build this effort, even as we bring widely different experiences and skills. It’s a great learning experience and what we’re doing is tremendously rewarding.”
