New York, New York (PRWEB) March 02, 2014

Testosterone treatment lawsuits (http://www.testosteronelawsuitcenter.com/) continue to be filed in courts around the country on behalf of men who allegedly suffered serious cardiovascular problems due to their use of Testim, AndroGel and other prescription medications used to treat low testosterone levels. According to court documents, a California man filed a complaint on February 26, 2014 against the maker of Testim that claims use of that medication caused his stroke. The complaint, which is now pending in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleges the stroke occurred after the plaintiff had used several doses of Testim in 2012, and further claims that his doctors later informed him that the testosterone medication was its likely cause. (Case No. No. 14-278)

“These allegations put forth in this complaint, along with those contained in several AndroGel lawsuits filed last month, echoes what we have heard from a number of men who have contacted our firm with concerns about testosterone therapy,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing the victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is currently offering free legal reviews to anyone who may have suffered serious heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, allegedly due to the use of prescription testosterone therapies.

Testosterone Lawsuits
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced on January 31, 2014 that it was reviewing the heart risks that may be associated with prescription testosterone therapies after two studies found a high rate of serious cardiovascular events in men with preexisting heart problems who received testosterone. The FDA has not yet concluded that these drugs will raise the risk of such heart events, but has advised doctors to weigh their risk and benefits when they are prescribed.

In addition to the lawsuit filed in California, a number of AndroGel lawsuits are pending in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois that make similar claims. These include four cases filed on February 4th which allege the medication caused plaintiffs to suffer heart attacks, strokes and heart failure. (Case Nos: 1:14-cv-00776, 1:14-cv-00780, 1:14-cv-00777, and 1:14-cv-00772) A Fifth AndroGel lawsuit filed on February 10th claims that the plaintiff suffered pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and other serious cardiovascular injuries after using multiple doses of the drug. (Case: 1:14-cv-00917)

According to court documents, all of the testosterone lawsuits filed thus far accuse the manufacturers of these medications of engaging in marketing that prompted men to seek testosterone therapy for symptoms normally associated with aging, such as fatigue and low libido. As a result, the lawsuits claim that drugs like AndroGel and Testim are often prescribed to men who have normal testosterone levels, even though the FDA has only approved these medications for those who suffer from reduced testosterone due to an underlying medical condition.

Men who allegedly suffered life-threatening heart side effects due to their use of Testim, AndroGel and other low testosterone therapies may be entitled to compensation for their injury-related damages.
