New York, New York (PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- Hundreds of testosterone treatment (http://www.testosteronelawsuithub.com/) lawsuits filed against the manufacturers of AndroGel and similar medications continue to move forward in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to a Case Management Order dated November 6, 2014, the Court has established protocols for the production of electronically stored information for discovery. (In re: Testosterone Replacement Therapy Product Liability Litigation - MDL No. 2545)
“Our Firm is evaluating a number of testosterone lawsuits on behalf of men who were allegedly injured due to their use of testosterone replacement drugs. We are pleased that the federal litigation is preparing to move forward with discovery,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is now offering free case reviews to victims of heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and other life-threatening heart problems that were allegedly caused by prescription testosterone medication.
Testosterone Treatment Litigation
Testosterone treatment lawsuits have been mounting in U.S. courts since January, when the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) launched a safety review of their cardiovascular risks. According to court documents, more than 220 testosterone lawsuits are now pending in the litigation underway in Illinois, all of which claim that the manufacturers of low testosterone therapies failed to warn doctors and patients about their potential cardiovascular risks, and concealed those dangers from the public.
The FDA’s review of testosterone therapies is ongoing. In September, a panel of outside advisors convened by the FDA recommended that the manufacturers of the medications be required to conduct studies of their cardiovascular side effects. The advisors also recommended that the labeling for low testosterone therapies be revised to make clear they have not been shown to lessen low libido, fatigue, muscle loss and other symptoms typically associated with aging in men.*
Men who allegedly suffered a life-threatening cardiovascular event due to their use of AndroGel or other testosterone replacement medication may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
