To celebrate its fifth year in business, The 5TH is challenging the affordable direct-to-consumer watch industry by moving to an entirely Swiss designed, engineered and Swiss made watch.

Today, The 5TH SWISS launches on Kickstarter making direct-to-consumer Swiss made watches an affordable reality. Just months shy of its fifth anniversary as a company, The 5TH is ushering in a new era for the Swiss made watch category by removing price barriers and connecting traditional craftsmanship with contemporary culture and consumers.

The 5TH Swiss understands that producing the highest quality watches means offering a Swiss made product, unlike other brands that may invoke the Swiss name by using monikers like “Swiss inspired” or “Swiss engineered,” or “Swiss movement” when in actuality the product is produced in the fast fashion manufacturing facilities in Asia.

“I created the 5TH because I want others to feel as empowered as I did as a kid every time I wore my late grandfather’s watch,” said Alex McBride, founder of the 5TH. “Our Swiss watches stand in the space between historic brands and the everyday consumer by making luxury quality and design accessible.”

The 5TH has always made beautiful watches at affordable prices by cutting out the middleman and going direct to the consumer, since day one. The Swiss Made ranges are a natural extension of The 5TH’s successful and on-going business model. By partnering with a renowned Swiss manufacturer, The 5TH ensures the highest quality at every stage of the watchmaking process. .

Blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, The 5TH Swiss series includes five distinct and different watches; An Automatic Range with an open caseback to view the 26 Jewel Movement, a range of 36mm three hand date models, a range of 41mm three hand date models and a range of Chronographs. All Ranges are housed in bespoke designed cases which contain a variety of finishes based on the particular collection.

The Designer Collection with those with a more creative flare, emphasizes design and creativity with turn brushed lugs; polished bezel and belly case; domed sapphire crystal, painted indices with super luminova hands. The Visionary Collection for those who like to push the boundaries in all areas, with highly polished lugs, bezel and belly case; domed sapphire crystal; hand-applied indices with polished hands with super luminova for added visibility in the dark. The Adventurer Collection, for those with an adventurous spirit is designed with turn brushed lugs; polished bezel and belly case; domed sapphire crystal; hand-applied indices with polished hands. The Elegance Collection, for those who always like to walk with class, with highly polished lugs, bezel and belly case; domed sapphire crystal; painted numerals with polished hands and ladies versions including mother of pearl dials.

The Limited Edition Automatic Collection encapsulates the master craftsmanship of the Swiss with steel, gold or a combination of steel and gold cases and are limited to 250 watches per style. They have a decorated movement with Cotes de Geneve rotor; glistening 26 jewels; turn brushed lugs; hand-polished belly-case; sapphire crystal; super-luminova on hands and indices which glow in the dark.
