The 313-page Being In 2020 Journal by writer Kerry Raleigh contains lists that help users define what 2020 means via such topics as gratitude, hope, traumas, triggers, fear, and resilience. There are 21 prompts to list answers, while BE-oodles™ pages give users the chance to draw on and still their minds through absent-minded doodling. There are quotes for inspiration and reflection and MyWi (my words, my wisdom) pages for users to come up with their own sayings and quotes. Journalers can use the lists in this Being In 2020 Journal or create their own lists to have conversations that check-in and connect with family and friends.
JUPITER, Fla., Dec. 11, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With an abundance of love but a lack of funds, writer Kerry Raleigh created the first Being journal in 2018 as a gift for her 13-year-old niece. That journal, Being 13, In 13 Lists Of 13, was a celebration of turning 13 and included a series of lists and prompts that could be filled in to document her milestone year. When the holidays rolled around a few months later and still being a little short on money, Raleigh decided to make the Being journals her Christmas gift to her three nieces: she would publish a Being journal for every age from five to 18 and share the entrepreneurial and creative process and the profits with her nieces. Since December 2018, she has been working on these Being journals as she and her husband Rob Osborne trotted the globe by house and pet sitting.
Then 2020 happened. Raleigh and Osborne found themselves stationary at her in-laws in England for seven months. Being stationary freed up time and focus on these Being journals. Searching for quotes and coming up with list prompts for Being 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 journals helped her calm her fears and unsettled anxiety from the disruption, chaos, and changes in 2020. This is when it hit her that Being In 2020 was a fundamental, pivotal, and shifting experience of our lifetime. The idea for the Being In 2020 journal took shape: A space to release what it was like to BE in 2020 and to reset into 2021 and beyond.

The Being In 2020 Journal reflects Raleigh's personal quest to reset her life as well. After experiencing two life-changing losses that were the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, in February of 2016 Raleigh headed out on what she calls her "pause and reset" journey with two simple goals: to reset her life, and to expand love and light while having some fun. She volunteered with disabled children at Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, as an English tutor with International Network of Engaged Buddhists Institute's School of English for Engaged Social Service, as a retail clerk at an Oxfam charity store, and as a field worker on organic farms. She traveled to India, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, England, Scotland, France, Germany, and China, where she met her husband. Throughout 2018 and 2019, Raleigh and Osborne traveled by offering house and pet sitting services to clients in the USA, Canada, Bulgaria, Australia, Greece, and England.
Raleigh is originally from Aurora, Ohio (just outside of Cleveland). She lived in Jupiter, Florida and Tampa, Florida for several years before starting her pause and reset journey. She and Osborne are currently residing in Durres, Albania. In each place she has lived and traveled, she has seen the goodness in others. Her pause and reset journey showed that this goodness in humanity has no borders.
While in Thailand back in 2016, Kerry got a very clear vision of her purpose and passion in life. She wants to use creativity for good, to expand love and light with fun and laughter, and to restore and popularize humanity's sense of stewardship for ourselves, for each other, for all animals, for the environment and our planet. No small vision. She knows "the what" she wants to do and trusts that "how" will come. The Being Journals are part of this purpose.
"As the Being Journals were born out of love for my nieces, they also come with love for humanity and for each Journaler. It is my hope that they find these lists, Be-Oodles, MyWi pages, and selected quotes fun, engaging, and reflective," said Raleigh.
In addition, Raleigh is also the creator of the podcast Silver Lining Moments with Kerry and the guided journal Silver Lining Moments: A Practice of Gratitude and Resilience.
