"Hackers never stop innovating. Neither do we.”-- Victor Fang, Ph.D. Founder and CEO of AnChain.AI
SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) July 16, 2019
We are proud to announce that AnChain.AI’s own Victor Fang and Rod Soto will be speaking at DEF CON 2019, taking place August 8th to 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
DEF CON is one of the world’s largest and oldest hacker conventions. For over 27 years, it has gathered both authorities and innovators in the cybersecurity space. Attended by leading experts in penetration, compliance, cryptography, and security, DEF CON offers an unparalleled perspective on the threats faced by emerging technologies and how to defend against them.
“Once hailed as unhackable, blockchains are now getting hacked. As famously stated in this 2019 MIT Tech Review article, blockchain security is facing a vital challenge. This is a rare opportunity for cybersecurity professionals to define this emerging industry sector. We are excited to share what AnChain.AI has learned whilst working alongside the cybersecurity community. Hackers never stop innovating. Neither do we.”
-- Victor Fang, Ph.D. Founder and CEO of AnChain.AI
Dr. Victor Fang is the Founder and CEO of leading blockchain security startup AnChain.AI. With 10+ years of experience in enterprise-grade machine learning deployment, he previously headed the AI initiatives at FireEy,e Mandiant, and holds more than 15 US patents centered around AI, Big Data, Fraud and Threat detection.
Just as blockchain technology continues to evolve and integrate with the legacy economy, so too do threats to its integrity. AnChain.AI aims to foster a better understanding of the emergent attack patterns that threaten today’s blockchain ecosystem, and to put into perspective the importance of secure transactions as blockchain is integrated into systems of investment, governance, financial infrastructure.
In 2018 AnChain.AI detected the first Blockchain APT attack: a sophisticated exploitation that funneled away over $4 million in Ethereum and exposed both the rarely-discussed vulnerabilities of the ecosystem as well as the increasing complexity and scale of hacking attacks. Through an examination of the methods used in identifying the attack, we hope to open a discussion about security standards in the blockchain environment.
“I am very excited to see community interest in blockchain security. Blockchain security research collaboration and knowledge sharing is key to promoting wide adoption, consumer trust, and industrial support, and I am looking forward to sharing this research with my peers and other industry professionals.”
