The Legacy at North Augusta Receives Bond Financing for Expansion Including a New Memory Care Neighborhood
STAUNTON, Va. (PRWEB) April 01, 2019 -- The Legacy at North Augusta–A National Lutheran Community has received tax-exempt bond financing for an expansion that will add a memory care neighborhood to the existing assisted living community. The bonds were issued through the Economic Development Authority of the City of Staunton, Va. and underwritten by Cross Point Capital LLC.
The project will add a three-story addition that will include ten new one-bedroom assisted living apartments and eighteen apartments in a secure, memory care neighborhood. In addition, the project will also update the existing kitchen and convert six two-bedroom apartments into 12 one-bedroom and studio apartments.
The Legacy at North Augusta’s Executive Director Cherie Powers stated, “Memory care is of increasing demand throughout Staunton and Augusta County. As a faith-based ministry, our goal is to provide services that meet the needs of seniors today, and that is what the project will accomplish.” Powers continued, “Throughout National Lutheran, our memory care programs recognize that a person’s declining memory doesn’t change who the person is or what they have accomplished. Each resident has their own story, and together we celebrate the desires and aspirations of each resident, focusing on where they are in their own journey.” The Legacy at North Augusta will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on April 10, 2019 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Construction will be complete in July 2020.
