Collegiate honor society poised to nominate and recognize more high-achieving students nationwide in 2020
WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is proud to announce it is establishing four new student chapters on college campuses across the U.S. NSCS will expand with the recent chartering of new chapters at Auburn University at Montgomery, Louisiana Tech University, University of West Florida and Valdosta State University.
NSCS is an interdisciplinary honors organization that invites and recognizes first-and second-year students with a minimum 3.4 GPA who are enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution. With its three pillars of scholarship, leadership and service NSCS is proud to provide career and graduate school connections, leadership and service experiences, practical and skills-based content, access to discounts and savings, and over a million dollars in scholarships, chapter funds and awards annually.
"Since founding NSCS in 1994, I've remained committed to supporting fist-and second-year students along with the first-year experience," said Stephen Loflin, founder of NSCS. "Chartering new chapters means new opportunities for students on these four campuses, along with access to focus on their future with our leadership development and scholarship opportunities."
With the addition of these four new chapters, NSCS will now have 307 total chapters on college and university campuses nationwide, as well as its national chapter.
"I've spent a considerable amount of time with the founding officers on these four campus and it is clear to me that the excitement, interest and commitment to enriching their academic experience whilst remaining true to NSCS's pillars of scholarship, leadership and service is second to none," said Holly Hankin, NSCS chapter development lead and former NSCS chapter officer.
