Dana steps into the role with over 30 years of clinical experience and expertise to help support an evidence-based and clinically balanced curriculum. Through clinical planning and thoughtful guidance, Dana will work with staff to create long-term healing experiences for clients.
With her undergrad in family relations and childhood development from Oklahoma State University and her master's in educational psychology, Dana began her career as a caseworker working with the mental health authority. She would later move on to complete her license in counseling, filling a variety of counseling and administrative roles within the mental health and substance use disorder field. During this time, Dana also assisted in writing program grants, working closely with judicial systems and creating collaborative partnerships with local government officials and community leaders in Waco, Texas. Dana worked in the Waco area for 12 years before moving on to The Right Step Houston.
Dana plans to support The Right Step by strengthening its efforts to bring high-quality, evidence-based treatment options to the Houston area. As Clinical Director, she also plans to create a healthy environment that promotes staff retention and growth. With thoughtful consolation and training, Dana will help guide staff to find the right solution for each client's unique needs.
