Here is your opportunity to invest in the future of film making. Wouldn't you love to have an 8mm print of the then 12-year old Stephen Spielberg's THE LAST GUNFIGHT?

Young film maker Ben Hammond, a thirteen year old Tualatin Oregon resident, has created several short films including last year’s movie, Zombie Park. He is currently preparing for his biggest production yet, a feature length horror movie, The Welder.
The project has been in the works for the last 9 months. Whitney Johnson, an educator at Village Home Education Resource Center in Beaverton, Oregon has been mentoring Ben and guiding him through the pre-production stages of this independent student, education project. The script is written and going through final editing now. Ben and his team have been scouting locations for filming and are preparing to begin casting young actors and actresses for the film. Last month, Ben was excited to announce that Amy Roloff, philanthropist and star of the American reality television series Little People, Big World, has agreed to participate in the project. "Working with Amy has given me tremendous insight for how hard I have to work to make it in this industry," Ben said in a recent interview.
Ben has launched a crowd funding campaign to secure the money required to complete the project. Nearly all of the cast and crew are young people and Ben’s goal is to pay them for their work. There are other significant expenses in creating a film of this magnitude including wardrobe, props, makeup and special effects. The current Indiegogo campaign closes May 8th.
"It's been amazing the support that has come from this and my other film projects," commented Hammond. "I couldn't have done it without the help of others seeing something in me that I don't even see in myself," he continued.
As a supporter, John Hutchinson, co-owner of VJ Books, an online bookstore specializing in signed horror, mystery, science fiction and adventure titles said, "Here is your opportunity to invest in the future of film making. Wouldn't you love to have an 8mm print of the then 12-year old Stephen Spielberg's THE LAST GUNFIGHT?"
"Facebook, Twitter accounts have been set up to help create social media buzz for Ben and his work," Barb Hammond, Ben's mother said in a recent interview, "but perhaps the best place to see the level of his commitment to his passion is best shown by going to his YouTube account."
