Patients at South Davis Community Hospital Give Gifts to Family Members Donated by The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day, Personal Injury Lawyer Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Long-term patients staying at South Davis Community Hospital (SDCH) over the holidays, due to life-altering accidents, illness and medical conditions, are given the chance to “shop” for family and friends through stocking stuffer gifts donated by The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day, Personal Injury Lawyer Salt Lake City. SDCH displays the Annual Christmas Shopping Mall in the patient day room allowing them to select complimentary stocking stuffer gifts to give family and friends when they visit the hospital.
Many of the patients at SDCH have long-term, permanent injuries or medical conditions that require constant medical care that prevents them from leaving SDCH; for some SDCH is their home. The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day, Personal Injury Lawyer Salt Lake City, often work with individuals and families that have experienced major injuries so they have a sincere desire to improve the holidays for these patients. In 2012 and 2013, The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day donated the gifts for the Christmas Shopping Mall. Additionally, SDCH holds book fairs and bake sales to raise this money, as well as receives donations from employees.
“When the patients tell me who the gift is for and share stories of that special person in their life, it is such a memorable moment to have with them. I most enjoy seeing the twinkle in their eye as they pick a special gift and have the opportunity to give!” Helga Swanson, SDCH Executive Assistant.
Since 2012, The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day, Personal Injury Lawyer Salt Lake City, has sponsored drives and made donations to help SDCH raise money to accommodate more patients in a new, larger facility that provides more patient privacy. The drives include: Patient Room Make-over, Cruise 4 Kids, Halloween Candy Drive and the Christmas Shopping Mall.
“Life altering accidents can be devastating for an individual and their families. We at The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day felt inclined to support SDCH because we work with victims who have suffered similar accidents and injuries as some of the SDCH patients,” explains Matthew Driggs, The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day, Personal Injury lawyer Salt Lake City.

About South Davis Community Hospital
South Davis Community Hospital (SDCH) was established solely to better support the needs of the community and surrounding region. At SDCH, children and adults of all ages find hope and their families find the support they need to heal and redefine everyday life. SDCH specializes in complex care with a focus on planning for optimal outcomes to transition patients to home whenever possible. After operating as a nonprofit acute care hospital since 1961, a visionary group of physicians worked with Bountiful City to reopen the former community hospital in 1977 as a dedicated specialty care center. SDCH remains a nonprofit organization held in trust for the community and region and is overseen by a Board of Directors. The SDCH Foundation will publicly launch the Love. Wish. Build. Capital Campaign in 2014 to support SDCH’s efforts to build the much needed expansion. Named spaces within the new building will be available for various contribution levels. SDCH and its Foundation continually cultivate grant and contribution opportunities to raise funds for the expansion.
