Community members accompanied the district through the years of planning, provided valuable input and impetus to make the center happen according to their own vision. When it was built, it was unique in the country as an all-in-one recreation center and was the largest such facility in the country. It was such a grand adventure to build and launch it, doing so many things for the first time and now, 14 years later, more than a million people a year still walk through our doors. The Apex Center is a regional recreation destination that offers something for everyone every day.”
