American Theater Dance Workshop and Nomad Contemporary Ballet Host Dancer Auditions
New Hyde Park, NY (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- The American Theater Dance Workshop enters its 32nd year this September and begins its first full season as the official NY School of the NOMAD Contemporary Ballet. Through this artistic partnership between the school and the ballet company it was decided that a new contemporary version of Nutcracker would be just the vehicle to introduce today’s audiences to the annual holiday classic. The production features the professional dancers of the Nomad Contemporary Ballet and select pre-professional student dancers from the American Theater Dance Workshop and beyond. On September 6th, 2014 from 12:00-2:30pm the company will be seeking dancers interested in performing in the production. Auditions will be held at the ATDW studios in New Hyde Park.
Cracked is a new look at an old classic featuring a story written by Jerome Vivona and choreographed by Kristen McGrew. The all new cinematic story surrounds the coming of age of Kara, Clara’s granddaughter, on the eve of her 16th birthday, it’s Christmas Eve and we join Kara on an epic journey throughout NYC to the magical Land of sweets. We’ll meet new characters and renew our relationship with old favorites as this romantic and exciting story unfolds. How does it turn out? You’ll have to join us and see… The ballet is suitable for all ages and is sure to become a holiday classic in its own right.
