The Bair Foundation Child and Family Ministries Promotes Orphan Sunday
New Wilmington, PA (PRWEB) October 27, 2013 -- More than 130 national and international organizations have joined forces through the Christian Alliance for Orphans to promote Orphan Sunday; a campaign that focuses on the biblical mandate to “defend the fatherless”. On November 3rd, 2013, churches around the globe will focus on the plight and reality of orphans and the children and teens in foster care.
Last year, the National Orphan Sunday campaign led by the Christian Alliance for Orphans helped energize this movement to a new intensity, including more than 2,000 local Orphan Sunday events nationwide. The campaign aims for more than 2,000 events across America the first weekend of November, calling Christians to adoption, foster care and global orphan ministry.
This year, The Bair Foundation has partnered with over 20 churches to host Orphan Sunday events that will include sermons, small groups, prayer, dissemination of materials, and video presentations. This event will give The Bair Foundation an opportunity to share the ministry of foster care with local congregations while raising awareness about the many children in foster care who are available for adoption.
Bair is actively raising awareness and recruiting foster and adoptive families for waiting children but they need the help of the local church. The Bair Foundation invites all local churches to partner with them as they promote Orphan Sunday. If you are looking for an opportunity to reflect God’s love by extending a hand and opening your home to serve children in need, visit http://www.bair.org for the nearest office and contact information. If November 3rd is not convenient, a representative from The Bair Foundation would love to speak to congregations at the convenience of the pastor. The Bair Foundation is not only asking for church partnership, they are asking the local church to pray, donate, or support those families who are currently fostering.
